Slatted media wall, office space and window seat

The living room has had a big change! We’ve added cabinetry across the width of the wall including an office space, a media wall and a window seat with hidden bench storage.

Designing a project is one of the most exciting parts of the process as it sets everything in motion. You tell us what you’d like, we design it and work out all the details to really make it the best it can be! The designs are the blueprint and everything is referenced off these drawings so you know exactly what the finished piece will look like! Take a closer look at how it works here.

On the left, we made this home office space. Floor to ceiling for the full effect with a mix of flat door cabinets for the all important hidden storage and open shelves with dimable lighting for all things easy to reach and of course, display! In the centre, there is a desk space with an oak slatted back panel and below there are drawers on each side. The doors and drawers are all push to open and it’s always lovely to be able to work on whatever project it is, in the family room and not hidden away!

For the centre, we made this grand slatted wall with frames for the TV and the electric fire. There is an invisible hatch below the fire for easy maintenance access and the sound bar is mounted onto a panel of its own.

On the right, we made this bench seat below the window. It’s great for when you have people over for some added seats and the best part has got to be the hidden storage, just lift the top up. The oak slats follow around tying everything in.

The cabinetry has all been sprayed in Coat On Mute, a cool light grey and the oak slats were stained in Rubio Monocoat Cornsilk.

We came back recently to add more to this project! The first addition was modifying the side of the media wall to add these little book nooks.

And in the hall, a coat and shoe bench with oak slats to match! There is a shelf on top for hats and the pegs are probably one of our favourite details placed on the centre of the slats. The cabinet below has a drawer, push to open again with angled dividers for his and her shoes. We didn’t take a photo of this which is a shame although I’m sure you can picture it (it looks great)!

We really enjoyed working on this project with Hannah from Homes under the Hannah, check her out here.
